Airline’s new emergency policy fare rules override fee conditions on previous and future issued tickets
When a ticket is presented for a voluntary change or refund, the pricing of the new ticket must apply the change or refund fee data in effect on the date the original ticket was issued.
ATPCO are building an automated solution to provide airlines the ability to file and amend change and refund provisions on previously issued tickets. These newly created general rules will specify the airline’s emergency policy (e.g. COVID-19 policy) based on the date the ticket is presented for a voluntary change or refund and will override change and refund conditions on previously issued tickets. The new rules can apply to future issued tickets as needed.
Sabre is ready to process the new airline rule filings effective June 7, 2020 and will automatically price the carrier’s emergency policy according to the change or refund rules for impacted tickets. This automated process eliminates any manual review of change and refund policies against each ticket.
